About Marie Digby
Marie Digby first hit the music scene in 2007 when a homemade video of her performing an acoustic version of Rhianna's Umbrella making viral making her a certified Youtube phenomenom. To date the clips has close to 20 million views and her youtube channel has collectivwely gained 100 million views.
In 2009, her online fame capatpulted her first album, Unfold #29 on the Billboard charts on its forst week, and prompted a succesful string of film and television placements for her songs of shows like ER, Greek, The Hills, One Tree Hill and Smallville. The album sold more than 100,00 copies world wide propelled by her hit song Say It Again.
Her second English album in 2009, Breathing Underwater, sprawned a 17- episode musical series, also entitled Breathing Underwater, about Marie's personal life and how she got to make the album. (Earlier that year, she also recorded an all-Japanese album called Second Home.)
Her rising star landed her features in high circulation US Magazines like Lucky, Esquire, Marie Claire, Billboard, and 944. She also made the cover of Cleo, a Singaporean publication.
In 2010, she joined the Lilth Fair Tour with artists Sarah McLochlan, Sheryl Crow and Mary J. Blige. And earlier this year, she headlined her own shows in Cannes and Paris, France.
She also hosted the Miss Earth 2010, one of the top beauty pageant competitions held in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
While she has performed all over the US, Europe, and Asia Marie recognized that a huge chunk of her fanbase were Filipinos, both from here and abroad. Even though she has no Filipino blood (Marie is of half-Irish, half-Japanese descent) her captivating beauty, her charismatic personality and her heartfelt songs have enthrolled the Pinoy market!
Marie is now in Manila and has committed to stay through mid-June 2011 to record an album, perform a series of shows and do product endorsements.
